10 Ways To Save Money On Your Vacation Travels - Part 2
Travel with a companion
I am sure most people do this already but it is still a good idea
to mention here none the less. Traveling with someone allows you
to enjoy places with another person. It means never having to dine
alone or having to worry about being an easier target for a crime.
So how does this save money? Well, often you can share some of the
costs that are involved. Even some places will have discounts for
multiple travels. You can share costs on hotel rooms, taxis, rental
cars, or on anything else that you can split the costs on.
Look for package deals on air, hotel, car
If you know you are going to need all three, why not see if you
can reserve all at the same time and save money doing it. Priceline.com
offers many great discount package deals and you can search for
them instantly.
Befriend the hotel concierge
When you are staying at a hotel, your best friend is the concierge.
Their whole job is to provide you with whatever you need and to
do that, they need to know where to get it. This means they know
all the best places to travel, the best places to eat (not to mention
the cheapest), where to find the best deals, and best of all, which
places to trust. They are a wealth of information and can get you
started in the right direction.
Keep a budget
If you really want to travel but dont spend a lot doing it,
you have to set up a travel budget. You can decide what you are
going to budget for but the key is to stick to it. Budgets are not
meant to keep you from buying things that you want; it is meant
to keep you from over doing it. So definitely put in a budget for
souvenirs and gifts but setting a budget ahead of time means you
want be bringing home useless items or big credit card bills.
Keeping dining to at pricey restaurants to a minimum
Dining and traveling often go hand in hand. When you travel, you
want to be able to taste and experience all the local cuisine. Thats
the whole point of traveling, right? To experience new things? Its
always fun to try out new restaurants especially if they are well
known. But dont forget, you want to stay on budget. So you
can definitely check out the finer dining places but dont
forget about some of the more popular (and affordable) local spots
as well. This will not only be easier on your pocketbook but will
give you a more well rounded view of the local scene.
So now you see how easy it can be to travel well without having
to shell out a ton of money. By being creative and putting in just
a bit of effort, you can make all your travels fun, easy, and frugal.
Heres to your travels!
